          Abdur Rahman Boyati was born in Dayaganj area under Sutrapur Police Station of the capital on January 1, 1939.

          He was a renowned lyrist, tuner, music director and poet of the country – all at once.

          Boyati started his music career under the tutelage of prominent folk singer poet Alauddin Boyati in 1956. Ever since, the maestro had almost 500 solo and some 200 mixed albums of folk songs to his name.

          He founded an eight-member music band named after his name in 1982.

          He rendered folk songs in a total of 42 countries, including England, Japan, the USA, China, Canada, India and Australia, alongside performing across the country.

          Besides, Boyati was a regular singer of the Bangladesh Radio, Bangladesh Television and all the satellite television channels of the country.
