Peter Benjamin Mandelson, Baron Mandelson, PC (born 21 October 1953), is a British Labour Party politician.
He served as First Secretary of State from 2009 to 2010, and was President of the Board of Trade in 1998 and from 2008 to 2010. Appointed the United Kingdom's member of the European Commission, Mandelson was European Commissioner for Trade from 2004 and 2008.[1] Mandelson served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Hartlepool from 1992 to 2004, before being elevated to the peerage in 2008.[2]
